YACHT CHARTER CREW

The owner of every yacht chooses the captain first and then relies on that person to choose the crew. To ensure there is no resentment between any of the crew and the captain, this is done.

The crew makes the difference in a flawless yacht rental, not the yacht itself. Any yacht will become an amazing experience with a top-notch crew.

You must first consult with us to ensure that the style of holiday you are looking for and the precise requirements you have will be met by the ideal crew for you.

Since a yacht’s crew is made up of two teams—the team responsible for the guests’ satisfaction and the team in charge of running the yacht—its size often corresponds to that of its passengers.  The difference between the two teams is that while the yacht management team is made up of engineers and maintenance staff who manage the craft and ensure you have a successful voyage, the passenger satisfaction team is made up of a crew member who comes in direct contact with the passengers on a daily and routine basis.

VIBRANT & KNOWLEDGEABLE

The Captain

The highest command on a boat is the skipper, who also serves as the “CEO” of your trip. In contrast to a hotel management, a yacht captain is granted specific nautical rights by international law that allow him to override passenger decisions if he determines that doing so will jeopardize the passenger, other passengers, the crew, and the boat. Thus, even though the captain will always come across as friendly and accommodating, it is important to remember that they are in charge and should be respected.

You are asked to raise any problems with crew members with the captain rather than the individual crew member as they arise.

DEDICATED & COURTEOUS

Deck Hands

These are the “sailors,” and they carry out a variety of duties that may involve interacting with the passengers, such as serving drinks, keeping people waiting, and supporting athletes. They also carry out general boat tasks like cleaning, shift work, and any other manual labor the captain may see necessary.

The deckhands typically interact with the passengers, but occasionally they don’t because they also have other tasks related to the boat to complete.

diesel + gas engine experts

engineers

These are the crew members who are in charge of the engine and systems; they do not interact with the passengers, and they are responsible for making sure the yacht runs flawlessly for the duration of your holiday.

NEVER EXPECTED, ALWAYS APPRECIATED!

TIPPING

Put simply, while vital, tipping shouldn’t be taken personally. Even if you had a terrific experience with one particular member of the crew, keep in mind that the entire crew works together in a harmonic operating relationship to give you the best possible experience. Tips should be given to the entire crew as a whole.

The captain should receive tips and distribute them among the crew. Let the captain know if there is a particular crew member you would like to personally congratulate with a larger tip, and he or she will handle it.
